Welcome to Lynx Search. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lynx Search platform (the "Service"), operated by Lynx Search ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We reserve the right to request proof of age and to suspend or terminate accounts if we reasonably believe a user is under 18.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account through our authentication system. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically, you agree NOT to:

Use the Service to stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate any person
Upload images of individuals without a legitimate and lawful purpose
Use search results to discriminate against individuals based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or any protected characteristic
Attempt to identify individuals for the purpose of causing them harm
Use the Service to violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit systems, or other security measures
Create multiple accounts to abuse free credits, referral rewards, or promotional offers
Share, resell, or redistribute your account access or search results commercially without authorization

4. Credits and Payments

4.1 Credit System

The Service operates on a credit-based system. Each face search consumes a specified number of credits. Credits can be obtained through purchase, new account bonuses, or referral rewards. Credit balances are non-transferable between accounts.

4.2 Purchases

All credit purchases are processed through Stripe. Prices are displayed in USD and are subject to change. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and authorize the charge to your selected payment method.

4.3 Refund Policy

Credits are automatically refunded if a search fails due to a system error or API failure on our end. For purchased credits that have not been used, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting us. Used credits are non-refundable. We reserve the right to deny refund requests if we detect abuse or fraud.

4.4 Referral Program

Users may earn bonus credits by referring new users through our invitation system. Each successful referral earns the referrer 3 credits, with a maximum of 50 referral rewards per account (150 credits total). We reserve the right to modify or terminate the referral program at any time and to revoke rewards obtained through fraudulent means.

5. Search Results

Search results are generated by AI-powered facial recognition technology and third-party APIs. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of search results. Specifically:

Results may include false positives (incorrect matches)
Results may not include all existing social media profiles of the searched individual
Social media profile information displayed is sourced from publicly available data
We are not responsible for the accuracy of information on third-party social media platforms

You acknowledge that search results should be verified independently and should not be used as the sole basis for any significant decision.

6. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend (freeze) or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to: violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, abuse of the credit or referral system, or use of the Service for illegal purposes. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits in terminated accounts due to Terms violations are non-refundable.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Lynx Search and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LYNX SEARCH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lynx Search and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lynx Search operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
